Blondes (the duo Sam Haar and Zach Steinman) is among those who claim the transcendent side of dance and the meditative potential of electronic music. Swisher, their second album, is a series of long, epic tracks where percussion contrasts with the sonic richness and synth that run through the album. Their sense of detail in musical construction, already hinted at in the previous album, is developed in Swisher. By focusing on process rather than protocol, Blondes draws closer to the masters of synth and German dub techno of the 70s.
