Blackfield V is the result of the close collaboration between Israeli composer and musician Aviv Geffen, and musician and producer Steven Wilson. Aviv Geffen has worked with legendary producers such as Tony Visconti and Trevor Horn; he has performed live with U2 and Placebo, and is currently part of the jury of 'The Voice' on Israeli television. Steven Wilson, after a long career as the leader of the highly influential band: Porcupine Tree, has achieved enormous success in his solo career: No. 3 on the Top 40 albums in England, Germany, and Holland, as well as 4 nominations for the Grammy Awards. Written and recorded over a period of 18 months in Israel and England, Blackfield V contains 13 tracks with a total duration of 45 minutes. In addition to the duo on vocals, guitars, and keyboards, Tomer Z is on drums, Eran Mitelman on keyboards. Most of the symphonic arrangements were realized by the London orchestral session. Blackfield V is a wonderful journey with catchy melodies, divine arrangements, and exceptional production. Indeed, the great Alan Parsons contributed to the production of 3 of the best tracks on the album. Lasse Hoile created the cover illustration in agreement with Carl Glover. The two musicians consider Blackfield V to be their best collaboration to date.
