Tomorrow Tomorrow And Tomorrow

Description

It can be difficult to resist the temptation to mythologize Bill Fay, as for decades he was as prolific as he was underrated. This status as an unsung hero has slowly but surely changed over a period of about twenty-five years. Each new album brings new praise and new followers, such as Jeff Tweedy, Kevin Morby, Adam Granduciel, and Julia Jacklin, to name but a few. The Bill Fay Group represents Bill Fay's most significant collaborative work; he records as a member of a larger band, and the result is a larger sonic scale, an elegant counterpoint to Bill Fay's usual instincts for discretion. Tomorrow Tomorrow and Tomorrow brings together the qualities of early rock, the complexity of jazz improvisation, and the folk magic dear to Bill Fay. Recorded between 1978 and 1981, the band's third album was not released until 2005, when it appeared on CD only. A 2006 reissue made the album available on vinyl, but nine songs were missing. Today, Tomorrow Tomorrow and Tomorrow is reissued in its entirety. It features all 22 original songs from the album and includes rare and unreleased photographs from the original recording session and a cover of Marlon Williams.
