Amaro

Description

For their third album, *Amaro*, Bibi Club invites us to confront the inner monsters that haunt us and surrender to the therapeutic power of an intense will to live. The songs explore the sensitivity between the present and elsewhere, highlighting love, nature, and community as unifying forces. Each track charts the map of the band's unique universe, extending the journey the Bibis have taken in recent years. Moving beyond the intimate setting of the living room, the duo dances in a mental space saturated with grief and fear. The loss of two loved ones in the past year intensifies the mantra "I want to love, I want to live," present in every melody; if the heart is an eternal place, one must reach it as quickly as possible. Inspired by significant artistic encounters, tours with Blonde Redhead and Circuit des yeux, as well as a collaboration with Calvin Johnson, Bibi Club asserts itself here with avant-pop and EBM infused with dark wave and neofolk, while incorporating baroque sounds—harpsichords, trumpets, and ritual chants to be learned by heart. Surrounded by a supportive community, including saxophonist and activist Dimitri Milbrun (George Sand) and singer Helena Deland, *Amaro* allows the band to define itself both intimately and collectively.
