He celebrates his 50th career anniversary in October 2018 at Dejazet and a new album where he beautifully covers "La robe verte". It is well known that Bernard SAUVAT is a former "math teacher" who wrote his first songs... in Morocco... while teaching... physics. It was Lucien Morisse who discovered him in 1970 and who, upon hearing him sing with his guitar, said to him: "I will make you the new Charles Trenet." As a songwriter, he recorded his first 45 RPM and his first album with DISC'A: "I was happy to make a record, I felt like I was speaking from my heart." As early as 1972, he won the Summer Record Award for "L'amour il faut être deux," marking the beginning of his collaboration with Pierre Grosz as a songwriter, and in 1973 "La Robe Verte" and especially in 1974, his first big hit "Le Professeur est un rêveur" placed him in all the charts.
