An American film noir from 1958 based on Boileau-Narcejac’s novel *D’Entre les Morts* (1954), *Vertigo* is a psychological thriller produced and directed by the great master of cinema Alfred Hitchcock. Filmed in San Francisco and at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, it is the first film to use the dolly zoom, a cinematographic effect that opposes the simultaneous effects of a zoom and a mechanical dolly, such that the main subject remains framed in the same way while the background, undergoing perspective distortions, changes. Hitchcock thus obtains a dizzying effect that embodies Scottie’s (James Stewart) acrophobia. This original soundtrack, composed by Bernard Herrmann and conducted by Muir Mathieson, is enhanced with 6 bonus tracks!
