Chansons du gai désastre
Description
This CD was born from the complicity of the singer Bernard Ascal (also a painter and poet) and his son, the musician and composer Gaël Ascal. Two singular universes intersect for the duration of 19 songs to create this quirky, sarcastic object, combining dark humor, gravity, and questions about the present times. Accompanied by the incisive blend of an electric quartet — Fender Rhodes, guitar, bass, drums — with a quartet of acoustic strings, these songs speak of: - solitude (Aquarium), - the dangers of nuclear energy (Le Ciel si bleu si calme), - the proliferation of the human species (Frères Humains), - ordinary self-censorship (Képi), - an unexpected form of generosity (Service-Organes-Surveillance)... At first, we laugh nervously, then we no longer laugh at all when the two Ascal grind the mechanisms that close in on our freedoms or when they stir the fantasies of hatred for the other. Distilling warmth and cold, the Chansons du Gai Désastre sound like an energetic call for greater lucidity.Buy Chansons du gai désastre at the best price
