A month ago, to our great delight, Belle and Sebastian unveiled the first episode of their new EP trilogy, 'How To Solve Our Human Problems'. Well-received by critics, with glowing reviews in Pitchfork and MOJO among others, this first release will be followed on January 19th by 'How To Solve Our Human Problems Part II'. The release of 'How To Solve Our Human Problems', a project encompassing three new EPs, echoes their three consecutive EP releases in 1997. Their music still possesses that enduring blend of joy and melancholy that has characterized them since their beginnings. What has changed is how the band wishes to disseminate it: in the coming months, Belle and Sebastian will gift the world with the equivalent of a sumptuously melodic, deliciously intelligent double album, at once as gentle as a summer stream and as urgent as a torrent. The 'How To Solve Our Human Problems' project represents both an era in itself and an integral part of their rich and long history.
