BEAT SPACEK is the latest project of producer/singer Steve Spacek. With limitless talent, his work transcends genres and styles - working on rhythm, melody, mood, and atmosphere. From his legendary output with the group Spacek; his solo work on the cult label Sound In Color, his collaborations with the great and late J.Dilla; to his more discreet project Black-Pocket for dBridge's label, Exit Records, as well as his more recent work with Mark Pritchard as half of Africa HiTech, he has always demonstrated great originality with a bold approach to creation. The paranoid post-punk of "I Wanna Know" with its dreamy sleng teng, to the very pop love song nu-wave "Inflight Wave," Modern Streets is the direct reflection of this experience imagined by the mind of a 21st-century rude boy. The powerful anthem with heavy bass "Alone in Da Sun" exploits the best of the dubstep sound lexicon and turns it into a club banger, overflowing with soul and charisma.
