Dream pop masters return with a splendid new album. Beach House will release their seventh album, titled 7, on May 11th via Bella Union. While they previously limited themselves to producing what they could reproduce live, this limitation was ignored for this album. Similarly, unlike previous albums, 7 doesn't have a producer in the traditional sense. Sonic Boom (Peter Kember) from Spacemen 3 played a crucial role on this album by rejecting conventions, which helped produce a vibrant, fresh sound protected from the problems of overloaded productions striving for perfection. Drummer James Barone, whom Beach House has trusted since 2016, played on the entire album, helping to put rhythm at the heart of several of its tracks.
