First album from the trio Beach Day, hailing from Hollywood, Florida. Recorded in South Florida and mixed in Detroit by Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs). Hollywood, Florida isn't your typical coastal town. Its buildings and diners seem frozen in the 50s, when the city boomed. A stroll through its streets is enough to feel like you're living in a Robert Crumb illustration. It's this slightly strange town that the Beach Day trio calls "home," and they use this environment to influence their sound. They create new music that is definitely sunny and rooted in retro styles. This album showcases their love for 60s girl groups. A blend of The Shangri-La's, The Ventures, The Sonics, Phil Spector, The Ronettes for the classics, and Cults, Jacuzzi Boys, Dum Dum Girls, Best Coast, and Black Lips for contemporary influences – the perfect soundtrack for a beach day.
