A stone's throw from the church where Desmond Tutu orchestrated the escape of Soweto's most wanted anti-apartheid activists, Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness (BCUC) rehearses in a shipping container turned community restaurant, where their indomitable outspokenness resonates in a whole new way. Like their elders, BCUC sees their music as a hedonistic trance, but also as a weapon of politics and spiritual liberation.
