Also found in Stash: lyrics, shorter tracks, riffs, prog\/funk\/church organ passages, psychedelic blues-rock synth solos. Echoes of Pink Floyd, Doors, Deep Purple, Iron Butterfly, Velvet Underground, and Can intertwine in a crystalline nest, then vibrate with an occasional foray into British folk. A relentless search for chords and rhythms: let your improvisation run free, with minimalist, lively, and subtly psychedelic tracks; a tropical soundtrack, a time and horizons, water from the edges, a steep frontier, and a gentle euphoria. Stash was recorded on half-inch 8-track tape by Greg Norman at Electrical Audio, then re-recorded and mixed on half-track 2-inch tape at Sweat Loge by Cooper and Bill. The very particular texture of Stash is the result of meticulous exploration, precision work on sonic details, and an optimal signal achieved in a few suitable spaces with a few (vintage) machines in the chain.
