Live And Well

Description

‘Live And Well’ was produced by 26 year old Bill Szymczyk, who would later become one of rock music’s most successful and prolific producers. The album consists of five live tracks (side A), recorded at the Village Gate in New York, and five studio tracks (side B). This was B.B. King’s first album to enter the top 100. Thanks to rock stars like Eric Clapton and Michael Bloomfield, B.B. King’s name had become common currency in rock and guitar circles. Accordingly, Szymczyk put together a young band of musicians who took King’s music to a higher level with a more soulful, rock-orientated approach. King always recorded well live, and it’s the concert tracks that shine the brightest, though the studio ones (cut with the assistance of such session men as Al Kooper and Hugh McCracken) are not bad either. (Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide). We are making this superb live and studio set available again in its original form, pressed on high quality 180 gram virgin vinyl, packaged in a gatefold sleeve with the original artwork and liner notes.
