Barry Adamson, former member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, releases his 10th solo album: Cut to Black.
"Cut To Black" confidently embraces the genre-bending compositions that are Barry Adamson's trademark, covering pop, soul, jazz, hip-hop, and gospel.
Adamson famously learned to play bass overnight and joined Magazine, Manchester's most influential band of the late 70s. He then spent three years with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds before establishing himself as a solo artist with the release of his debut album "Moss Side Story"—the soundtrack to an imaginary film—which established him as a composer of great complexity. Having released nine studio albums, including the Mercury Music Prize-nominated "Soul Murder" (1992), Adamson continues to tour worldwide, and his talents are as sought after by new generations of artists as they were after his first solo album. 2018 saw the release of "Memento Mori," a compilation celebrating his 40 years of artistic activity, and his first memoir "Up Above The City, Down Beneath The Stars" was published in 2021 by Omnibus Press.
2024 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Adamson with the release of the acclaimed documentary - Scala!!!, the brand new studio album, and highly anticipated concerts.
