BARBARA - 25th anniversary of the passing of the "long dark lady."
Barbara would achieve widespread success. Pantin 81 would be the live album that solidified her reputation. A legendary concert!
After difficult beginnings in Belgium, she became the star of the cabaret L'Ecluse. There, she performed the songs of others. Quickly, Barbara began writing and composing, leading to 'Dis, quand reviendras-tu?', her first major hit.
Her destiny changed upon joining Philips in 1964. A first, then a second, a third album – all her records found their audience, and successes followed one after another: 'Nantes', 'Pierre', 'Au bois de Saint-Amand', 'À mourir pour mourir', 'Si la photo est bonne', 'Göttingen'…
In 1970, 'L’aigle noir' was released. This time, the success was colossal, attracting an ever-wider audience. The legend was born.
In 1981, the release of the album 'Seule' was a major event. Barbara performed in Pantin in a series of concerts that have since become cult classics.
On November 24, 1997, Barbara passed away at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
