Band Aid was the charity supergroup founded in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia. The single exceeded producers' expectations by becoming the 1984 Christmas number one. The song was re-recorded to raise additional funds in 2004 and 2014. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Christmas hit Do They Know It's Christmas? and raise additional funds for the Band Aid Trust, a new version has been produced. A brand new edit and mix produced by Trevor Horn blends the voices of the many artists who have recorded the song over the decades.
