Description

Man of the World elegantly describes the unfolding of events from the past year from several places and perspectives, thanks to the numerous travels made by the musician following the release of his first album The Names in 2015. The bassist of the band Vampire Weekend expresses here his deep anxiety in the face of a constantly changing world. In trying to analyze his own reactions, he has reflected a lot on how certain feelings and emotions can be exhilarating. This is what the song 'Vin Mariani' tells, it is a cocktail of red wine and cocaine that was very popular in its time. 'Out of Tune' shows the other side of this intoxication: being the one who provokes it, who derives power for his own ends. 'Dangeroue Anamal' speaks of my disdain for those who deny climate change and my hypocrisy as a traveling musician and meat consumer contributing to climate change. 'Sensitive Guy' is partly dedicated to the way we pay taxes to a government that commits violent acts.
