Description

Le Bagad de Lann-Bihoué is a traditional Breton and Celtic music ensemble that was founded in 1952 at the naval air base of Lann-Bihoué near Lorient. It is the bagad of the French national navy, a permanent ambassador of the navy, Brittany, and France both in France and internationally. The album for the 60th anniversary of the Bagad aims to be a clever blend of 60 years of tradition and "modernity." Modernity with, among other things, the version by Alain Souchon of his "Bagad de Lann-Bihoué" from 1979, recorded here with the Bagad for the first time, the participation of Laurent Voulzy (tbc) on a new version of "Belle-Ile en Mer," as well as an instrumental version of the Coldplay hit "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall." Tradition with "historical" titles such as "Kentizh nan splann ar goulou deizh" (theme for the exit from the church at the wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco), "Dans Tro Fest" (suite of Gavotte Pourlet), "Dans Fisel." The album was mixed in Vigo in Galicia, a Celtic region of Spain, by Xurxo Nunez.
