Released on February 5, 1982, on the cassette-only label ROIR, Bad Brains is the debut studio album of the American band blending hardcore punk and reggae. Recorded in 1981, it quickly became known as The Yellow Tape among fans, in reference to its yellow cover. Although the band had already recorded the album Black Dots (1979) and the EP Omega Sessions (1980), this cassette marks their first official long-format release. This reissue is part of the remastering campaign accompanying the relaunch of the Bad Brains Records label. Created in collaboration with the band, it was overseen by Org Music, with audio work done by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering, and pressing carried out at Furnace Record Pressing.
