BACCHANTES' ROCK INCANTATIONS.There is mythology: that of books, of dust, and the stories we make our own. Bacchantes is not a band of today, nor one of yesterday. Definitions are anachronistic in their peremptoriness. There are four of them, they are women. These are two facts. They play rock, and have put together an instrumentation that is entirely their own, somewhere between acoustic and electric: guitar, drums, keyboards, and Indian harmonium. That provides a framework. They immediately knew that the versatility of their experiences would be a strong foundation for their artistic construction. A cry to the world. Such are some intentions. Over the past fifteen years, these four artists have explored various fields, contributing to the project's radical uniqueness. The furious noise in Fordamage, where Amélie Grosselin demonstrated how to become one with her guitar in an intense ballet; the pluralistic pop where the chorus already held its place in Mermonte's arrangements for Astrid Radigue; the radical lyricism of the Sieur&Dame duo for Claire Grupallo; and finally, the baroque and naturalistic folk for Faustine Seilman. Bacchantes is the aggregate of these personalities, these references, these musical and life constructions. "THIS ALL-FEMALE QUARTET CELEBRATES ROCK, CHORUSES, AND SOUNDS FROM ELSEWHERE." --- OUEST FRANCE ---.Bacchantes blends the tribal with melody, the end of the world with renewal, death with rebirth. Voices literally taking shape, these colliding choruses create an atypical trance.
