Izzy Glaudini (synth, vocals), Lola Dompé (drums, vocals; her father is Kevin Haskins of Bauhaus), and Halle Saxon (bass, vocals) form Automatic, an electronic post-punk band straight from Los Angeles. They first met while immersed in the L.A. DIY scene and started playing together in 2017. Over the past few years, they have become a staple of Los Angeles clubs. The explosive energy that Automatic radiates during their concerts has earned the trio countless fans on the West Coast. They have shared the stage with bands such as Surfbort, Poptone, and Flat Worms. It was by working with producer Joo Joo Ashworth (FROTH) that Signal was born. This album merges their taste for reggae dub with the knotted rhythms of synths inspired by Neu! and Suicide, all mixed with a cinematic pop sensibility. The influence of David Lynch and Dario Argento's strange and unsettling films and atmospheres can be heard.
