Industrial metal visionary Author & Punisher presents his sixth album and first for Relapse, 'Beastland'. Tristan Shone (the creator and sole artist behind Author & Punisher) drew on his career as a mechanical engineer, forging a relationship with design, sound, and fabrication that ultimately led to his custom-built, handcrafted "Drone Machines," which represent a journey away from the world and described traditional instrumentation as "precision machines." A robotic experience blending industrial metal, noise, doom, and drone, Author & Punisher is reminiscent of Nine Inch Nails, channeling Godflesh and moving through dark, uncompromising, and often disturbing soundscapes with occasional detours into lush melodies and bursts of light. Featuring newly built drones and a new label, 'Beastland' is Author & Punisher's career-defining statement and a powerful listening experience that further blurs the line between man and machine.
