"To write and compose the soundtrack for Rose, I delved into my memories, into my DNA. I wanted to create music that would evoke the softness, the languor, the warmth, the richness of the music of my Tunisian and Middle Eastern origins. I wrote lyrics in Hebrew, Arabic, and Italian with the resources I had, singing with my fragile accent. But this intimate journey was so important to me; I wanted to reconnect with my history. To help me orchestrate some of the soundtrack's tracks, I called upon Thomas Feterman from La Caravane Passe, a versatile, sensitive, and incredibly talented musician. The pianos are played by Gaël Rakotondrabe, a formidable jazz pianist. The strings are directed by Mokrane Adlani, and Amar Chaoui is on the darbuka. And I had the immense fortune and emotion of including a composition by my daughter, Shalom, who was 12 years old at the time."
