Violin concerto symphony n°8

Description

Dignified heir to a Franco-Belgian school of violinists with Ysaye, Vieutemps, or Wienawski, Augustin Dumay continues his dual work as a soloist and conductor. As a soloist above all, he offers us here Beethoven's Opus 61, the violin concerto with the technical challenge of the solo part in which Dumay gives the best of his art and meets the challenge of reviving the orchestra he conducts from the violin. As a conductor, then, with a brilliant version of Beethoven's 8th Symphony, placed at the head of the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra. This double album concludes with chamber music, the third facet of Augustin Dumay where he excels in Brahms' Sextet Op.18, accompanied by talented musician friends: Miguela da Silva and Marie Chilemme (viola), Svetlin Roussev (violin), Henri Demarquette and Aurélien Pascal (cello).
