His unique blend of lo-fi house and Burger Highlife quickly captivated music lovers worldwide. The seven tracks of Obaa Sima, which inaugurated the Awesome Tapes From Africa blog, fascinated and baffled listeners for years. A reissue in 2015 brought Ata Kak back into the spotlight, performing live with his London-based band, but the sound quality was limited by the condition of the original DAT tape. Today, the Obaa Sima Anniversary Remaster finally offers crystal-clear sound, the result of a meticulous search for the best cassette copy.
