Ashley Eriksson is known to many for her work with LAKE, which notably produced "Island Song," the end credit song for the Cartoon Network animated series "Adventure Time" (the video has over a million views on YouTube and has spawned a multitude of covers). The singer is now releasing *Colours*, her first solo album. Tucker Martone (producer for LAKE, Decemberists) planted the idea of a solo album in 2011, but it wasn't until after a stay in Sweden that Eriksson decided to work on it. A collection of piano pieces and ballads, the album is imbued with her vision of 70s instrumentals and her pop sensibility. Eriksson recorded the album herself, using the equipment she's had since she was a teenager. She recorded her songs in various favorite locations, including barns, churches, her small house in Sweden, friends' homes, and the Whidbey Island mobile studio where she lives with her husband and fellow LAKE member, Eli Moore.
