Between complex jazz and trip-hop, Ash Walker takes us on an astral musical journey. Magnificent! The third album by Ash Walker, 'Aquamarine', is an astral rain of rhythms and vibrations. The musician's production habits are just as exploratory: his travels have taken him very far, from the tunnels under the Thames to recording local percussionists in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. 'Aquamarine' is a projection and the culmination of everything Ash Walker has absorbed throughout his life and travels. A cosmic explosion of sounds and colors, of rhythms, shapes, and patterns. It's the takeoff of an auditory spacecraft, a sound discovered in the grooves of thousands of records, brought together as one. On this new album, Ash Walker is joined by Yazz Ahmed, the genius of the trumpet and bugle, bassist Marc Cyril (Keziah Jones, Jr Walker & The All Stars), and the renowned musician and producer Jonathan Shorten.
