BLK ODYSSY is an artist and producer based in Austin, whose innovative sound blends soul, hip-hop, rock, funk, and pop. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, and raised in a family steeped in neo-soul, BLK began to express his voice through music after the unjust murder of his older brother by the police at the age of 12. This trauma, which shook his life, along with his experience as a young Black man in 21st-century America, fuels his raw and complex narratives. His debut album, BLK VINTAGE (2021), celebrated and questioned Black identity in the United States. Acclaimed by critics, it was reissued in 2022 by Empire under the title BLK VINTAGE: The Reprise, featuring collaborations with Mereba, Benny the Butcher, George Clinton, and Baby Rose. Since then, the project has amassed over 100 million streams and has made BLK ODYSSY an essential figure in modern soul. His second album, DIAMONDS & FREAKS (2023), confirmed his meteoric rise, blending surrealism and social critique through collaborations with Rapsody, KIRBY, Bootsy Collins, Cory Henry, and production by The Alchemist. BLK ODYSSY has opened a bold new chapter with his third studio album, 1-800 FANTASY. The first single from the album, "WANT YOU" (co-produced by Tyler Johnson, known for his work with Harry Styles), marked a turning point in his style. It was followed by "XXX" featuring Wiz Khalifa, and "STANK ROSE" featuring Joey Bada$$.
