CADAVER was the first Norwegian band to push the limits of speed with blast beats that the scene had not yet known. DIY effects of "hair dryer and distortion" were used to simulate thunder in their early intros, and their avant-garde approach to songwriting makes this release an essential document of a band that refused to conform to established norms. Before Norway became synonymous with Black Metal, the land of fjords also saw the birth of many remarkable Death Metal bands. Founded by underground legend Anders Odden in 1988, CADAVER produced several highly influential demos, allowing them to sign with Necrosis Records, founded by Jeff Walker and Bill Steer of CARCASS, for their iconic album Hallucinating Anxiety in 1990. This long-awaited compilation, covering the entire output of the Norwegian Death Metal kings CADAVER before the release of their landmark album, will undoubtedly delight fans of the band and beyond.
