All the songs on \"So Far So Good\" navigate between tradition and modernity, obscure sunshine pop, great classics, and shady experimentations. By Martial from Total Heaven (Bordeaux): \"I'd been waiting for this for a while. Arthur Satan (JC SATAN) is releasing a solo album on Born Bad. And this news delights me. Even before listening to it, I already know I might be surprised... Bingo! I'm a lucky guy. It's a recurring feeling. Like a privilege. Working in a record store (Total Heaven - Bordeaux) brings its daily share of hassles and worries. But with some nice gifts along the way. Finding myself in the position of a privileged observer, for example. That's the enviable prerogative of a record dealer. About fifteen years ago, I remember very well this shy and curious young man, barely an adult, rummaging through the bins. He asked a lot of questions. Sometimes about not-so-ordinary bands. Oh, he also played in a band! Polar Strong. Furious concerts. A sophisticated single. Not bad at all. Very quickly, the boy multiplied projects with a greed that bordered on bulimia. In this incredible series of overlapping bands, a lot of garage rock (Hoodlum - fabulous - and the word is not exaggerated), some flashes of pop (Les Cranes Angels, between Flaming Lips and the Danielson Family). And then, the first 45rpm of Satàn (then without J.C.) and his adorable 'More Funny Than A Mini Horse'. A promising duo, I thought... I didn't realize I was completely minimizing the impact of the thing. From then on, and over the ten or so albums and singles released to date, we have witnessed, helplessly, the creation of an epic chimera, advancing by leaps and bounds. This lyrical and powerful rock, which devours absolutely everything in its path, and adorns itself, by the way, with the most beautiful fabrics of exalted pop... My favorite formula: J.C. Satàn is a QOTSA whose ass is being kicked by Black Sabbath's \"Paranoid\" while Jean-Claude Vannier stands guard around the corner. A sonic and baroque fury that opens the door to all hallucinations. One June evening, I clearly felt the floor of the BT59 open beneath my feet, with molten lava appearing in response to the band's incantations (true story). So, after these years of resounding uproar, what can one expect from an Arthur Larregle album? Overwhelming deluges? Whiffs of whiskey? Darkness? Black eyes? Tinnitus? Not really, no. The key to this record is in a chest thrown to the bottom of a well. One must go back to the spring of 2010 and remember 'Four Naked Sons'. These divine '60s folk songs recorded by Arthur. Already like a negative to his bands of that time. They clearly appear today as the demos of the delicate record in question. With experience added. 'So Far So Good' is the old joke about the guy falling from the top of a building and at each floor he says to himself 'So far so good' explains Arthur. 'It sums up my musical life, my confinement and the fact that I finally dare to do something on my own (...) and then the expression sounds really good'. Personally, I think 'Less is more' would have been just as appropriate. Less electricity. Less commotion. More tenderness. The animal is capable of it. Sweetness and light. That's what this is about. Who would have thought? Plenty of grand piano. Absolutely beautiful. Is it his friend Dorian doing it? No, no, no, as usual, Arthur is alone in performing his feats. The big dollops of mellotron, that's him. The wonderful guitars? Same! The refinement of the arrangements? The celestial vocal harmonies? Still Arthur. The one who calls himself Le Nain Boit du Vin (The Dwarf Drinks Wine) on social media is definitely full of surprises. His record too.\"","brand":"Arthur Satàn","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55310273282392,"sku":null,"price":20210625.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3521381566482_bdbf6603-708d-4f09-9d66-7d1a3dafd94a.jpg?v=1760318125","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/arthur-satan_so-far-so-good-vinyl_2021_lad","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
