American heavy metal scene leaders since the early 80s, Armored Saint are back in full force with Punching The Sky. A diverse collection, imbued with attitude, it is everything the band's faithful expect from them while advancing their signature sound. "When you're a band that started four decades ago, you really have to push. You're tougher than ever when it comes to making a new record," says Bush. With Vera as producer, he recruited the same team of engineers who worked on Win Hands Down with drums recorded by Josh Newell at El Dorado Studios in Burbank, CA, guitars tracked by Bill Metoyer at Skullseven Studios in North Hollywood, CA, and vocals, bass and additional recordings by the bassist in his studio. The record also features a few guest musicians, with the sound of Uilleann Pipes, Patrick D'Arcy and Guns 'N' Roses keyboardist, Dizzy Reed.
