An ambitious project revealing the many treasures Ariel recorded during his prolific artistic development. Born Ariel Marcus Rosenberg in 1978, his encounter with the marginal music scenes of Los Angeles - in nightclubs on Sunset Strip, local record stores, then at the California Institute of the Arts with a group of musical disruptors - led him into a period of creativity that resulted in the most inventive and influential underground music of the 2000s. While much of this music appeared on albums such as The Doldrums, House Arrest, and Worn Copy, many tracks remained unfinished or unreleased. Ariel conceived the Odditties Sodomies series in the mid-2000s to release this creative surplus, and in 2008, the first volume appeared on vinyl. This selection presents a non-chronological sample of both sides of Ariel's studio evolution, from early home recordings (\"Driving to the Grave\") to the palette offered by a real studio (\"Bolivian Soldier\"). It reveals Ariel inhabiting various musical identities, oscillating between deliberately theatrical, baroque modes and more intimate, unadorned expressions. He swings between neo-prog-rock and post-punk, zigzagging through everything in between. This 14-track collection includes co-written tracks with John Maus (\"The Law\"), with Patrik Berger, Mac Demarco, and Charlotte Ercoli Coe (\"Party Zone World\").
