In January 1967, Aretha Franklin joined Atlantic Records at the age of 24, embarking on one of the most prodigious winning streaks in pop music history by releasing five hit singles in the same year. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra recorded these arrangements at Abbey Road Studios in London, with new backing vocals directed by Patti Austin.
