The first has the freshness of the early Saravah recordings, of the album he co-signed with Jacques Higelin, a regimental comrade, or those he concocted at the time with his partner, the sublime Brigitte Fontaine. The second is rich in arrangements that many musicians contribute to. Both possess the monotonous poetry of a raw, ethereal voice, the Kabyle scent of the percussion he lightly touches, of the flowers he grows in his dream garden, a generous and colorful dream."
