A second organic and sensual album for Arca. After an introspective debut, "Xen" released in 2014, ARCA returns with her second opus via Mute, "Mutant," deliberately more exuberant. Dedicated to the important figures in the artist's life, "Mutant" illustrates the continuous transformations catalyzed by certain loved ones in her circle of friends or family. They are the leitmotif of the Venezuelan DJ and producer's metamorphoses. Arca's two albums powerfully illustrate the plurality of her music. But where the first album invited the public into the artist's world, "Mutant," on the contrary, comes to meet them. It is an album that considers "sensuality and impulsivity as the only escapes from rigid constraints," according to the producer.
