Arabrot’s music is timeless; just when you think you’ve pinned down an influence or point of reference, it slips from your grasp, heading off in unexpected directions, shaping a sound that is truly unique. Over the last two decades Arabrot has morphed through multiple iterations; they have tried on different shapes and sizes, encompassed varying moods and explored the fringes of diverse genres, never being less than themselves. 2023 heralds the arrival of their tenth album “Of Darkness And Light” – a cause for celebration. The flamboyant Kjetil Nernes has been Arabrot’s core and constant, and for some time now, another heart has beat beside him in perfect harmony. A partner in life, love and music, Karin Park has contributed to Arabrot to varying degrees for ten years, and on the new album, her presence is both strengthened and amplified. They live together in a church in the Swedish village where Karin grew up, crafting their own domain in which they nurture their children, their craft and their creative visions, in their own home/church-turned-studio.
