"Trovaores" or the spirit of encounters: sometimes chance is a mode of causality whose laws we ignore. I've forgotten who coined that phrase, but it perfectly suits this musical project now becoming an album. Indeed, it was from an almost chance encounter with Antonio Placer in the streets of Grenoble that this musical experience, "Trova flamenca," was born. I was well acquainted with the artistic and poetic world of this Galician from Dauphiné, as he likes to introduce himself. For a long time, I wanted to lead him towards a territory that seemed foreign to him – flamenco – but with which his music could engage in an artistically promising exchange. Traditional flamenco styles, particularly the Farruca, whose Galician origins Antonio Placer shares, and the Malagueña, served by his deep and pure voice, would take on a new and unexpected dimension.
