Antoine Corriveau is a singer-songwriter from Montreal. He arrived on the music scene in 2011, and in 2014, he captivated audiences with the acclaimed *Les Ombres Longues*, followed by *Cette chose qui cognait au creux de sa poitrine sans vouloir s’arrêter* in 2016, which received numerous awards in Canada. In 2020, the album *Pissenlit* solidified the artist's melodic and literary talent, delighting critics. The artist returns with a fourth album, *Oiseau de Nuit*, a rich and explosive sonic offering. The primary desire that motivated the creation of *Oiseau de Nuit* was to borrow from hip-hop production codes, without falling into the trap of a mere stylistic exercise. Interested in further exploring the collage technique touched upon in his previous album, Corriveau acquired a significant collection of vinyl records with the goal of creating a sampling album. Feeling quickly constrained, however, he chose to create custom samples by inviting a myriad of musicians to record improvisations in his studio. The energy of these improvisations truly expanded the limits of his songs, where R&B-leaning melodies coexist with flowing lyrics delivered without ever taking a breath.
