The Empress of Austria endures thus: her revival at the Theater an der Wien through the United Theatres is followed by revivals, world tours, and numerous recordings. It is hard to imagine that, despite a star-studded cast, gold and platinum awards, and a tracklist composed essentially of favorite songs, the most successful German-language musical of all time was never released on vinyl. But that is about to change: after 32 years of Ich Gehor' Nur Mir, HitSquad Records is pleased to present the first Elisabeth Vinyl of its kind. LIEBLINGSSTÜCKE is a highlight for fans of the cult musical, who even played a key role in this special release. The song selection - eleven stations of the Empress's life - is the result of a survey in which participants could vote for their favorite tracks and their preferred version. The result of this - and of decades of love for the musical by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay - will be released on blue vinyl. Eleven favorite songs - all from the obviously most popular 2012 anniversary version, live at the Raimund Theater in Vienna with ANNEMIEKE VAN DAM, MARK SEIBERT, and KUROSCH ABBASI - and mastered exclusively for vinyl, make up the next and final dance of Empress Elisabeth.
