Born Annahstasia Enuke, the Los Angeles-based artist discovered the importance of artistic resilience and creative intention at 17, after being discovered and then propelled into the entertainment industry and the suffocating pressures that came with it. Annahstasia assembled the pieces of her debut album, *Tether*, slowly and with deep intention, letting early iterations of each song ferment in the world and find their truest meaning before being cemented on the album. The recording was done instinctively, in single takes only, to capture the atmosphere of the room and the community around the music. Her voice is stripped down and bold on each track, exploring its power and ability to lead the listener on an emotional journey with newfound latitude, while an expansive palette of instrumentation colors in the spaces between. Recorded at the famed Valentine Studios in Los Angeles, Annahstasia was joined by producers Jason Lader (ANOHNI and the Johnsons, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey), Andrew Lappin (Cassandra Jenkins, L'Rain, Luna Li), Aaron Liao (Liv.e, Moses Sumney, Raveena), and a whole host of musicians, including guests Obongjayar and Grammy-nominee aja monet.
