Airy and invigorating indie popDetroit singer ANNA BURCH presents her debut album Quit The Curse, to be released on February 2nd on Heavenly. Airy melodies set to gentle guitars, the American songwriter's work is a true nod to the sounds of 60s girl groups with classic pop references like 'Crimson and Clover'.
After learning the ropes of live performance and studio recording through numerous concerts over the past few years, ANNA BURCH found herself accumulating a significant amount of personal creations. These songs, of rare sincerity and depth, reached the ears of Collin Dupuis (Angel Olsen, The Black Keys) who helped her develop what would become her debut album. Pitchfork describes ANNA BURCH's work as "very similar to the disjointed energy of 1990s indie-pop, reminiscent of Rose Melberg (Tiger Trap, The Softies), but with more pronounced contours. Her writing is particularly vivid, painting with striking clarity the whims of human relationships."
