Based in the north of England, Ancient Infinity Orchestra is a joyful large ensemble that places collective musical creation at the heart of all its activities. This includes the melodies of their new album « It's Always About Love », which flourish thanks to inspiring improvised contributions around the beautiful songs of leader Ozzy Moysey; generous sonic gifts of healing and repair. The 15-member ensemble has a unique lineup: two double basses, harp, saxophones, clarinets, violin, viola, cello, oboe, flutes, mandolin, congas, piano, drums, as well as bells, shakers and other percussion instruments scattered on the floor of concerts and recording sessions, ready to be used whenever the urge takes them. This orchestration, and the fusion between belonging and friendship, give Ancient Infinity Orchestra a sound that is both vast and intimate, earthly and cosmic, constantly evolving while being anchored in a common intention. The attention to intention and their inviting sonic universe connect the music to artists ranging from Alabaster dePlume to Matthew Halsall and draw inspiration from the great names of so-called spiritual jazz: the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Pharoah Sanders, Coltrane (Alice and John) and Don Cherry.
