It’s cute and endearing, but also a little arrogant.” The title reflects the dualities structuring the album: between humility and pride, softness and strength, divine energy and human imperfection. “The entire project is a constant struggle between innocence and audacity, between confidence and despair – but always imbued with grace.” While All Black Everything favored rich jazz instrumentation, BabyGoated opts for a more direct approach. Gadiaga's voice is front and center, giving shape to her internal monologue with candid clarity. Throughout the EP, her lyrics act as encouragement: “In the intro track, I directly address my little brother and my troubled lover. I embody a warm feminine presence to guide them out of their difficult moments.” Exploring organic textures, BabyGoated features warm piano, trumpet, and a folk-tinged guitar. For the first time, she also writes in French slang. A liberating turning point that bridges her French and African identities. “Usually, when I write in French, it’s poetic and refined,” she explains. “But this song was born from the desire to create something that the younger me could relate to and enjoy.” An exuberance emanates from the EP, both in its music and its visuals. Gadiaga drew inspiration from her African heritage to shape the world of BabyGoated, celebrating individuality and Pan-African pride.
