Some 20 years after retiring from the music industry to spend more time with his family, Allan Clarke, the former singer of The Hollies, is releasing a new album. The collection of new songs, 'Resurgence', is set to be released on September 20, 2019, in the UK via BMG. In an interview with the British music magazine 'Uncut', Clarke said: "For many years, people have asked: 'Why don't you start singing again?' What I could no longer do was sing Hollies songs. But what I should have said is that there may be a time when I can sing, because I will be doing songs that I might be able to write myself. It was always on the back burner. But then, I told my son Toby, who has been musically involved in the family since the year he was born: 'I have a song that I wrote on the guitar, but I don't know what to do with it.' What do you suggest? He said: 'You should learn to use GarageBand' and he showed me how. It gave me a new lease on life doing something I thought I would never do again."
