Transcriptions lyriques

Description

This program, designed as a lyrical recital ranging from Schubert to the 21st century, highlights voice, poetry, and piano in a single unique genre: piano transcription. It is the result of years of collaborations with the stage and the lyrical universe, whose musical and human experiences have significantly influenced my playing and my vision of music. Although the pieces are short, their extreme polyphonic density combined with rare virtuosity keeps both performer and audience on edge throughout. The challenge is considerable: to hear and make heard under ten fingers a melodic line, its accompanying part, and even to let the texts be guessed through the interpretation. After Schumann, Siloti, Reger, it is this challenge that I too wanted to take on to include in this recording melodies that I passionately love and that were missing from the repertoire: Les Chemins de l'Amour by Francis Poulenc and Le Rêve op. 38 no. 5 by Sergei Rachmaninov.
