The music magazine Melodie \u0026amp; Rhythmus describes it as follows: \"Some feelings fall away like useless ballast, and others are literally fired into the light by her songs.\" Her songs tell of hoping and failing, of loving and letting go. You don't just hear them, you experience them. Her music springs from folk, wanders through pop - and strikes straight to the heart.Alin Coen, born in Hamburg in 1982, grew up bilingual as the daughter of a German doctor and a Mexican artist. As a teenager, she traveled to India, East Timor, Canada, and also lived for a year in Australia. Searching for Bullerbü, she ended up in Sweden at nineteen and discovered her talent as a composer and guitarist at an open mic night. In autumn 2003, she moved to Weimar to study environmental protection engineering. But Alin spent more time with her guitar than in the lecture hall and founded the Alin Coen Band four years later, with Jan Frisch (28) on guitar, Philipp Martin (25) on bass, and Fabian Stevens (28) on drums. Jan was an architecture student and gave concerts with his songs on the side. Philipp and Fabian never missed a session during their jazz studies. Over the past three years, four individual musicians grew into a band with a sound that flatters the ears. And with special skills: they fit all their instruments (including drums, bass amp, and four guitars) into a Golf and can juggle seven clubs.The Alin Coen Band is one of five up-and-coming bands that were allowed to participate in the legendary \"Popcamp\" in 2008, the master class for pop music of the German Music Council. In August, the band toured Canada, performing in Vancouver and Victoria, among other places. In 2009, they opened concerts for Jacob Dylan, Starsailor, Philipp Poisel, Regina Spektor, and Amos Lee. The media also quickly took notice of the four, and they could be seen on ZDF's \"Pop Cracks\" as well as on the weekly cultural program \"Scobel\" on 3sat.It's fun to experience the band live. What the four bring to the stage has an almost infectious lightness. It becomes particularly intense, however, through Alin Coen's lyrics, which are often self-ironic - as in her song \"Das letzte Lied\": \"These are probably the last lines I address to you. This last song shall stay with you -- until I write a new one.\"\"Already over?\" you ask yourself at the end of a concert and wish for a CD that you can listen to on repeat constantly. You won't have to wait long for that. On August 27, 2010, the debut album \"Wer bist du?\" will be released on the band's own label \"Pflanz einen Baum\". They founded the label to be independent and to not let anyone interfere with their music. This independence also characterizes the bilingual album, which is far from the pop mainstream. With their music, the band has planted something new: the Alin Coen Band sound. With each listen, the enthusiasm for this music grows.","brand":"Alin Coen Band","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57516561531224,"sku":null,"price":20250808.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/alin-coen-band_wer-bist-du_2025_disco-virgin-music-group","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
