Founded in the late 1980s by Jonas Erixon and Fredrik Ekberg, Alicate first toured in Sweden and Finland, even accompanying Ian Gillan on his Toolbox tour in 1992. After a hiatus in the 1990s, the band returned with World of Anger in 2009, followed by Free Falling in 2013 and Unforgiven To Be Forgiven in 2018, as well as a live EP. During the pandemic, Erixon composed and collaborated with several renowned artists. In late 2025, the arrival of keyboardist Marcus Zerath brought new energy, carried over into their new album Too Bad to Be Good, a melodic rock record with powerful hooks. The ten new tracks highlight Jonas's voice, with several co-writes by Pete Alpenborg, including the single "Save Our Love". The album was mixed by Svein Jensen and mastered by Philip Granqvist.
