With "Pianosong," Alexandre Tharaud pays tribute to the great names of 20th-century French chanson (Brel, Brassens, Michel Berger, Gainsbourg, Yves Duteil, Trenet, Ferré, Nougaro...) by transposing their melodies into a new pianistic and symphonic language. Known as one of the most eminent pianists in the classical repertoire, his 2022 album "Cinéma," dedicated to film music, demonstrated the artist's strong resonance beyond the classical sphere. This new album is presented as a true collection of musical metamorphoses through improvisation, arrangements, orchestration, and interpretation of great French classics.
