Kaamelott, for the first time on record. The original soundtrack of Kaamelott - Premier Volet, the first film of the cinematic trilogy of the saga created by Alexandre Astier, will be released on November 27, 2020 (Deutsche Grammophon). Composed and orchestrated by Alexandre Astier, it brings together 115 artists: the Orchestre national de Lyon conducted by Frank Strobel, the Choeur de chambre Spirito, the soloists Cyril Dupuy (cymbalum), Gabriel Rignol (theorbo), and Alexandre Astier himself (piano, guembri, ghungroo, cajón, dholak, hulusi). "The music of Alexandre Astier is rooted in the great symphonic tradition of film music. It should be remembered that the "Hollywood sound" was largely created by European composers who fled their continent in the 1930s and who carried within them the musical tradition of the late 19th century from European concert halls and opera houses. The sound they created then is still relevant in Hollywood in the scores of blockbusters. Alexandre Astier fits into this post-romantic tradition, but retains a "French touch." Sometimes, his notes soar in a delightful manner, his changes in sound colors are subtle: it's almost impressionistic and quite French in my opinion." Frank Strobel
